Food is essential to our life and eating well helps us to feel well. Our approach to diet begins with an appreciation of real food. Avoiding processed food and eating as much local and organic food as possible. Eating can become a joyful experience if we see it as a gift and a way to nurture ourselves each day. Most real foods can be enjoyed in moderation. There are times when our patients feel their best when they avoid certain foods and we offer food intolerance testing to determine what those foods may be. There are also times when patients may need more of a specific nutrient because of a genetic or lifestyle uniqueness and we offer testing for nutritional deficiencies. Dance
Dancing is any kind of movement. Daily movement is essential to feeling well and is pleasurable when done in a way that respects the body. This can be anything from going for a walk on the beach, carrying a child up the stairs or riding a mountain bike. Movement is supposed to feel good and the best results come from integrating more movement into your daily routines with simple things like taking the stairs instead of the elevator or intentionally parking a little further from the store. It is also important to get enough rest and we offer natural approaches for insomnia and sleep difficulties. Having fun and enjoying life is the benefit of keeping the body and mind balanced and active. Love
What’s love got to do with it? Resentments and regrets can ruin your physical health. We have intuitively always known this, but now we have the science to understand how it happens and the tools to relieve this suffering. The stress of being unable to give and receive unconditional love is as detrimental to your health as drinking poison. Learning to love well is essential to feeling your best and it starts with the simple steps of giving yourself attention and acceptance. Many patients suffer from mood disorders such as anxiety and depression and are looking for holistic ways to balance their mood and feel their best. There are effective tools to guide you along the way. Prayer, meditation, breathwork, biofeedback, visualization, journaling, spiritual practices, and counseling are all tools that work, along with improving eating habits and having regular physical activity. |
